• Child Development Center

Beginning on Monday, June 15, the Columbia Development Center will be adhering to CDC, Virginia Department of Health, Falls Church City and Fairfax County Government's COVID-19 Phase Two Reopening plan.

We will be managing our building operations with minimal public interaction. To minimize face-to-face public contact, we ask that you continue to contact us online, or by email or phone.

Due to the circumstances resulting from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not reopen our half day programs (Morning Half Day or Bilingual Half Day) for the school year 2020/21. Not reopening two beloved programs has been an excruciating decision as we understand the impact it has on our families.  In a time that holds so much uncertainty, and where there are no perfect options, we feel it is the best decision we can make for the viability of the Center in the future.

If you would like to apply for the 2020-2021 school year, please fill out this online form and someone will contact you.

Columbia's Child Development Center, (CDC) has been serving children and families in the community since 1969. We embrace a joyful, developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood education and care that is rooted in our belief that every child is wonderfully made to learn through creating, exploring, questioning, and in relationship with friends and respectful adults. Our work is rooted in our Christian faith, a partnership with parents and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.

    We offer the following programs:
