Food Pantry Needs

The Food Pantry exists on the donations of Columbians and residents, as well as local companies, churches and organizations. Check our wishlist for a complete list of items that are always welcome at the pantry.  Place your non-perishable donations in the blue Shop-N-Share bins located around the church.

The primary volunteer time is on Saturdays, between 8:30 am and around 12:15 pm. Tasks include working directly with clients to provide their food; pre-packing bags of food and shelving food;  praying with clients. Non-Saturday tasks can include transporting food, receiving deliveries, and preparing the pantry for Saturday operations. All volunteers are scheduled; please contact Betsy Pankey for more information or to volunteer.

Information for Youth Volunteers

  • Youth younger than 15 are required to have a parent or other responsible adult accompany them.
  • Youth 16 and older must provide a completed Food Pantry Youth Permission Form if they wish to volunteer without a parent or other responsible adult.
  • A limited number of unaccompanied youth can be accommodated at the pantry each week, so make sure to sign up early.
