Visual Arts Programs

The goal of CIFA's Art program is to enable children to explore their creativity and imagination through various artistic media, and to provide opportunities for adults to develop their abilities, and express themselves through the visual arts.  Our instructors are highly qualified artists and teachers.

CHILDREN'S ART
Twoosy Doodlers
This special parent/child class is often the first education program for our "Twoosys."  Children learn about color, texture, and more, while experimenting with new and innovative materials.  Parents/caregivers learn what they can do to help nurture creativity.

AGES:  children 20 - 36 months, with parent or caregiver

COST:  $306.00 (18 classes at $17.00 - includes materials)
CLASS ATTIRE:  Painting aprons will be provided


Mini Doodlers

Mini Doodlers gleefully create their own masterpieces, using a wide range of high quality art materials. Children develop important school readiness abilities, such as fine motor skills, ability to listen and follow directions, cognitive skills, language, and more, in an enchanting environment that develops individual creativity through the use of materials including watercolors, tempera paints, oil pastels, creative tools and more. 

AGES: boys and girls, ages 3-6
WHEN:  Tuesdays, 3:30pm - 4:15pm

CLASS ATTIRE:  Painting aprons will be provided.


ADULT ART
Botanical Art:  Composition and Watercolor
Drawing from live plants and /or fruits, students will learn drawing, composition and painting with watercolor.  The course will accommodate both beginning and advanced students. For the latter, it will be a workshop to interact with other artists and critique one another's work. Advanced students may follow along with the class or work at their own pace with their own choice of plants.  The course will be held in two  six-week sessions.

AGES: adults
WHEN:  Session I - September 3-October 8,  Session II - October 29 - December 10 - 10:00am - 1:00pm
INSTRUCTORS:  Bonnie Driggers and Ruth Ann Barr
COST:  $120.00 per session (6 lessons at $20.00)
