FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength…

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Columbia is dedicated to assisting in the development of next generation through a church-home partnership that encourages, equips and empowers parents to be the spiritual leaders in their homes. We believe that God created families to be discipleship centers. The family disciplining centers are where parents and grandparents impress the hearts of children/students with a love for God. The family discipleship center purpose, under the equipping and accountability of the local church, is to advance the Gospel and the Great Commission through the power of multi-generational faithfulness. (OR “is to tell the stories of faith and teach the truth of the love God through Jesus Christ so the next generation will know”)

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY AND STUDENT MINISTRIES

How from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures…2Tim 3:15

Children's Ministry & Student Ministries are ministries at Columbia that are founded on relationships and assist parents as Next Gen leaders come alongside children, birth through college, to reach, teach and lead the next generation through weekly discipleship classes, in-home huddle groups, mission and service opportunities, special events and worship experiences.

PROJECT 78

Leading the next generation to know God…Psalm 78:1-7

Project 78 is an intentional discipleship ministry “partnership” where each member of your family will have an opportunity to explore the same Scripture each week no matter which days of the week you come to Columbia or what age you are. Project 78 is all ages, all programs, same Scripture.

Sunday Mornings: 9:45 am & 11:15 am

This is where Project 78 week begins. The goal is a growing relationship with Jesus and a faith that is woven into all areas of our lives. Sunday mornings, families will explore the same Scripture in their specific age-graded Children’s, Students, and Parents class and emerge from church with a common reference point that will spark discussion and application at home. The extra tools, such as weekly take-home pages and the parent’s handbook will also help encourage families to integrate what they learn into daily life. When Families choose a class time that compliments their family’s chosen worship service the Family faith experience is off to great start! Adults will have the option to participate in their current IG class and topic or opt to participate in a Project 78 IG.

Wednesday Nights: 6:30-8:00 pm

Wednesday night families can reconnect with their Columbia Family for a mid-week recharge as children and students continue to study and reinforce same Scripture they studied on Sunday in a different format. Parents have same Project 78 Parenting study opportunity offered Sunday morning on Wednesday nights. Our hope is that parents would partner with us to disciple the next generation. This option makes it possible for parents serve to Sunday and study Wednesday or vice versa. Again, Adults will the option to choose from a variety of topics including participation in a Project 78 IG.
