Senior Adults Ministry
Here at Columbia we seek to integrate senior adults into the life and work of the congregation. Seniors are encouraged to serve alongside other members across age divisions in Missions & Evangelism, Music, Worship & Arts, Faith Formation, Administration, Lay Ministries as well as Congregational Care ministry areas.
There are several senior adult Bible study classes, but many choose to attend inter-generational groups. Email Nancy Walker or call 703 534-5740 x266 for more information.
A senior adult choir, the Joy Singers, ministers to persons in nursing homes and senior adult living facilities, sharing the love of Jesus through music.
Throughout the year Columbia hosts a multitude of events that are of particular interest to our Senior Adult community. While many of our events are inter-generational, Senior Adults look forward to the AARP 55 Alive Driving Course being held at different times throughout the year, as well as our newest event, which is a tribute banquet honoring our members 65 and over held in February.
