The School of Dance

The School of Dance at
the Columbia Institute of Fine Arts

CIFA's School of Dance provides creative dance training and refreshing exercise for all ages in a fun, nurturing family atmosphere. It is offered in an enjoyable, safe, and supportive environment in our fully-equipped dance studio.

The goal of our School of Dance is to inspire and motivate the very best in our students to help them reach their full potential, developing a love for dance and enjoyment of expression through movement. Because of the excellent training and experience of our instructors, as well as the natural progression of our curriculum, we provide a path for a high degree of achievement in dance, including preparation for performance and competitions. Within the School of Dance, students participate in recitals and also have opportunities for performance.

Training and development in classical ballet is the core of our curriculum. As ballet skills are mastered, they may then be applied to such related forms of expression as sacred dance, lyrical and interpretive dance, jazz dance, tap and character/folk dance. Students and parents must meet with the instructor before enrolling.
