Prayer & Practice

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.  -- James 5:16b, NIV

Columbia seeks to be a people in continual communion with God in the name of Jesus under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.  To live into our core value of constant prayer, Columbia offers a variety of ways to strengthen your prayer life.

Columbia's Prayer List.  Columbia maintains a prayer list which is updated twice a week.  You may submit a prayer request or update by completing the Prayer Request Form, calling the prayer list voice mail at 703-534-5740, ext 264, or placing a Connection Card in an offering basket during the worship service.

Prayer Room:  Room 203 is a dedicated prayer room if you wish to find a quiet place to be alone with God in prayer.

Weekly prayer gathering:  Columbia's leadership team gathers for prayer each Sunday morning, 7:30-8:00 am in room 209.  The prayer time includes time in silence and time sharing the concerns on our hearts.  Everyone is welcome.

Monthly prayer gatherings:  The prayer ministry team leads a monthly prayer gathering the final Sunday of each month, from 8:45 to 9:30 am, in Room 229.  The next prayer gathering is November 19.

On November 19, the women of the church will be praying for the men of our church. Come and PRAY for the Men of Columbia --husbands, brothers, sons, fathers, and friends.  Let's lift them up before the Father for protection, wisdom, and grace!  Contact Janine Cook for more information or to ask for prayers.
