Community Connect Update

What is Community Connect?

Community Connect is an opportunity for Columbians to connect on a new level by looking within the church first when purchasing everyday goods and services.  Have you ever considered the many Columbians who are electricians, real estate agents, web designers, babysitters, financial consultants, hairstylists, painters, dog walkers, jewelry consultants, furniture makers, artists, photographers, and even tutors?  By using the Community Connect network for these goods and services, we are able to support each other as we prepare our church for the next generation. 

Community Connect is designed to enable increased giving to G2G2 while simultaneously strengthening our ties within Columbia and the community around us. One of the first steps to Community Connect is to build the Community Connect Partner Network.

What is the Community Connect Partner Network?

Do you own a business or offer products/services that others within the Columbia family may find useful?  The Community Connect Partner Network is a directory of businesses, products, and services made available to all members and attendees of Columbia. Members will have the ability to view this listing via the Columbia website, a printed brochure, as well as a mobile app that will be available for download in both the Apple and Play stores.

Why become a CC Partner? 

The Community Connect Partner Network has three main objectives.  First, we want to support those businesses and individuals who are making an investment in the next generation of Columbians and who are passionate about igniting passion for Jesus Christ from metro Washington to the world.  We know many of you have made generous pledges to the G2G2 campaign, have purchased Front Door Shares, and are volunteering your time to see that this building project is a tremendous success.  By helping bring awareness of your business to members of Columbia, our hope is that we can generate a new client base for each Partner.

Our second goal of the Network is to help bring Columbians closer together.  We are sure there are a number of people within the walls of our church you recognize, maybe smile at in the halls, or even speak with on occasion, but you do not know their name or have knowledge that they offer a service or product of which you are in need! The Network is one way Columbians can extend these interactions outside the four walls of the church and help strengthen relationships.

Lastly, our final objective through Community Connect is simply to close the funding gap and open that new front door.  By asking each Partner to contribute to Community Connect a portion of the proceeds made through conducting business with fellow Columbians, we can help achieve our church-wide goal of expanding our facilities to make room for others and help ensure success for the next generation.

How to become CC Partner?

So, are you ready to sign up?  Enrollment in the Community Connect Partner Network is easy.  Start by telling us more about yourself and your business offering.  Email CommunityConnect@ColumbiaBaptist.org for more information. You can also stop by the G2G2 Information Booth in the foyer on Front Door Sundays which are held the first Sunday of each month.

Community Connect presents an opportunity for Columbians to engage with other Columbians outside of traditional worship and fellowship activities. We look forward to watching this network grow our relationships with each other and our community around us.
