1. Full-Time Ministry Associate for Family Life Ministry, Full Time, Salary & Benefits

We are now accepting applications for a full-time Ministry Associate to join the Family Life Team. The Family Life Team is responsible for providing ministry to children birth through college and their parents. It is our ministry philosophical belief that parents are the primary faith shapers of their children and that it is the church’s responsibility to come alongside families to equip, encourage, and empower parents in their God given role. This candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of ministry leaders both staff and lay who are passionate about partnering with parents to disciple the next generation to ignite passion for Jesus Christ.

The Family Life Ministry Associate plays a critical ministry support role on the team and ensures the ministry operates smoothly. The right candidate possesses a caring heart for ministry, is creative, has the ability to anticipate the needs of the leadership, and the capacity to adapt in a changing environment while able to maintain focus on the task at hand. This position would be ideal for (but not limited to) a college graduate with a business degree, an at-home mom returning to the work force, or a seminary student who is preparing for vocational ministry looking for important ministry exposure and experience in a healthy church environment.

Responsibilities include: ministry program and event support, publicity design and web site updates, management of event registrations, utilization of the ACS data base system for member care, management of ministry financials, supervision of Child Protection Training & program, and providing office management and meeting support.

2. Columbia Child Development Center - Ministry Associate

Columbia Child Development Center (CDC) is accepting applications for a part time Ministry Associate.  We are a church based Reggio inspired child development center serving children ages 18 months to 5 years old in a Full Day, Half Day and Bilingual program. The Ministry Associate for the CDC provides a professional and warm office environment that is welcoming to all parents and visitors to the Center as well as administrative support for the CDC Senior Director and staff.  Experience in an office setting or school is preferred.  Must be available to work year round.  To apply, please send a letter of interest and a resume to Melissa Armstrong at marmstrong@columbiabaptist.org.


3. Part-Time Assistant & Substitute Teachers

4. Voice Instructor

The Columbia Institute of Fine Arts, a ministry of Columbia Baptist Church, is seeking a Voice Instructor. This instructor would be responsible for teaching private and group voice lessons for students age 8 to adults. All styles preferred but must have a classical vocal background. The candidate for this position must be at least 25 years of age, and have a Bachelor or Master degree in music, with a specialization in vocal performance or education. 5. Paid Childcare

We are looking for several dedicated individuals, ages 16+, to work part-time with our Childcare Ministry. Positions are available for both lead and assistant childcare providers. 6. Media & Broadcast Manager - Full-Time

Description: The primary function is to support the vision of the Worship, Music and Arts ministry through media and technology, overseeing all aspects of sound, lighting and video to ensure a cohesive media approach.

Reports To: Pastor for Worship, Music and Arts


  • Maintain regular office hours to be determined in conjunction with the Executive Director and Pastor for Worship, Music and Arts
  • Serve as Media Director for all worship services on the main campus, overseeing all aspects of media to ensure they all work in harmony to effectively deliver the Word of God
  • In conjunction with the various Worship Pastors, plan, organize and implement media support for all worship services, as well as major musical programs throughout the year
  • In conjunction with the Pastor for Worship, Music and Arts, coordinate, develop and mentor volunteer staff and interns for all worship services, including all practices, programs and auxiliary functions of the church
  • Oversee the weekly scheduling of all volunteer staff including special contract projects
  • Attend weekly departmental staff meetings for input and informational purposes
  • Responsible for production of internet broadcast and video archives of all services, including upload to the website
  • Work with the Pastor for Worship, Music and Arts in establishing and administrating the Media budget
  • Have an overall understanding of all media equipment along with an ongoing maintenance and upgrade plan for the media ministry
  • Serve as primary backup for Columbia’s IT Manager, providing basic IT services such as Windows server restarts, Internet connectivity troubleshooting, along with solving basic PC and Mac computer issues.
  • In conjunction with the Pastor for Worship, Music and Arts, coordinate, develop and mentor volunteer staff and interns for all worship services, including all practices, programs and auxiliary functions of the church
  • In conjunction with the Pastor for Worship, Music and Arts, develop and implement system designs on the various campuses as needed
  • Provide technical assistance as needed
Continuing Education
  • Stay abreast of new products, ideas and methodologies related to media ministry
  • Attend training events annually
  • Special Contract Projects
Compensation for the Media and Broadcast Director is based on responsibilities that fall within the scope outlined above. Other special events (weddings, outside groups using Columbia facilities, etc.) are not generally included in this scope. While the Media and Broadcast Director may not be required to provide media support for these events, these projects may be available on a “per project” contract fee that is negotiated with the specific groups involved.
This person should be:
  • creative and visionary
  • proficient in both live and post?production broadcast and video (Avid, Final Cut Pro HD)
  • a leader, recruiter, and able to take direction and guidance from supervisor
  • able to manage schedules and deadlines
  • a team player with good office and people skills
Expected Outcomes
  • Overall weekly worship services that are seamless and enhanced, not distracted, by the technical production of the media and broadcast team
  • Post production broadcasts that are professionally produced
  • Volunteer teams that are developed and mentored both technically and spiritually
  • A productive and cooperative staff member of Columbia
